Hi, I'm Laura Sadler, CMT. Thanks for visiting my site. I specialize in injuries, chronic pain relief and stress management. I refer to my practice as integrated holistic therapy because I combine different healing modalities to achieve optimal results. The modalities that I practice are: Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Reiki Therapy, Craniosacral Balancing and I also do Pregnancy Massage.

Whether your have an old injury, a recent injury, stress, stiffness or issues that effect your mobility or range of motion, you will have trigger points. Trigger points are caused by trauma, injury or stress to the muscles, from either repetitive movement, inactivity, accidents, sports or emotional stress to name a few. By combining various massage techniques listed above and especially Trigger Point Therapy I can help to reduce and in many cases eliminate your pain by 'erasing' trigger points.

Reiki and Craniosacral Balancing are also very effective not only for treating pain, but for reducing symptoms from other health related issues. Energy work relaxes the body and mind almost instantaneously which allows you to achieve a deeper level of healing.

Volunteer Work

Friends of Animals Foundation Animal Shelter

I volunteer at a local no-kill shelter and I do Massage and Reiki therapy on the injured or disabled dogs. So far, most of the dogs I've worked with have been adopted. My news archives has details about a very special dog named Daisy, who's miracle adoption took place because she was being filmed for a documentary about animal shelters. I was working with her when we met her future mom on the street.

St. Mary’s Hospital in Long Beach

From April, 2004 - March, 2006, I resided over the Reiki Therapy program at St. Mary’s Hospital in Long Beach. The program is still being run through the Senior Center. Reiki Hugs

I participated in a study on the effects of distance Reiki in a project called Reiki Hugs. The study was initially targeted toward children with cancer, but it is was later open to children with any illness. I was assigned my child in late January '03 and the project wrapped up on July 19th.

The whole family was involved in the project, each assigned a different Reiki practitioner. The children were not informed of the project and unfortunately, the children didn't experience much of a change in their condition. I know that distance Reiki works, but obviously the recipient needs to be aware of it and open to receive as well.

Research Information

Students! Check out the research study on the benefits of massage therapy and increased test scores.

The study was done based on math scores, but I'm sure that these findings would carry over to test taking in general. Here are the results in a nutshell: "The massage group showed increased speed and accuracy on math computations while the control group did not change". The study shows that the students had decreased anxiety and increased alertness. In addition, the students tested lower for job stress.
